Self assessment
The self-assessment questions are for examining the organisation's conditions for work with gender mainstreaming, and to what extent the gender equality work is carried out within the framework of the organisation's ordinary planning and follow-up process. A background to the questions can be found under the corresponding headings in the guide. Evaluate on the basis of whether the criteria are completely missing, whether development is ongoing/partly present or whether they have been achieved. Think about which functions need to contribute to making estimates of the various parts.
Prerequisites for Gender mainstreaming
Management and governance
1. The top management has active ownership of the gender equality work, and it is clear how the work is taken care of and followed up by the management.
2. The responsibility for the work with equality integration is clear at all levels in the organisation.
Support, coordination and competence
3. Our gender equality work is conducted as an integral part of our core business.
4. We have a function that supports and coordinates the work with gender mainstreaming, which has a clear mandate and sufficient resources.
5. We have organised our gender equality work so that synergies are created between different tasks and target areas.
6. We have ensured the competence of key functions, for example, the finance function, analysis department and organisation development.
7. We take care of and spread knowledge that is created about gender equality work in the organisation.
Plan for a gender equal organisation
Orientation and problem formulation
8. We have a clear picture of the client's expectations of the gender equality work.
9. We have a clear picture of which inequality problems are linked to the agency's operations, both in the operations and in society at large.
10. We have analyses of the conditions and needs of various groups in our target group/within our sector.
11. We have a clear idea of what the work with gender equality should lead to.
Organisation planning
12. The various parts of the organisation formulate goals based on the overall focus for equality work and which of them respond to inequality problems.
13. We plan for measures that contribute to counteracting the equality problems that we have identified.
To follow up and evaluate the organisation
14. Through our ongoing monitoring of the organisation, we have knowledge of what it looks like for different groups of women and men. We can thus follow the development over time.
15. Through our ongoing follow-up, we know what we need to do to ensure equal treatment of the target groups.
Annual follow-up
16. All individual-based statistics in the results report are broken down by gender.
17. In the results report, we make assessments and analyses based on gender.
18. We report how we ensure equal treatment of all target groups.
19. Our annual report makes it possible to follow how our business is conducted and developed from an equality perspective.
20. In instructions for ongoing follow-up and reporting, evaluations, quality documentation or equivalent, an equality perspective is requested.
